INTRODUCTION TO

CONFERENCE CATEGORIES

We invite the workshops at the conference to facilitate explorations in these eight categories within each of the track. Each of these categories are explained in detail below.

1. EARTH = BODY = WOM(B)AN

This category invites exploration in the Intersectionality,  inter-relationality, and interconnection of Wom(b)en’s Bodies with

the body of the Earth.

It invites the awareness to locate the happenings in the outer as a reflection of the inside, and the inner being mirrored in the outside. We want to call attention to the wounding mirrored in the inside and outside, and, also, the intrinsic power of regeneration,  renewal, and rebirth available in, of and to both.

E.g:  Locating outer chaos (EarthQuakes, Volcanos,

Raging Fire,  Deforestation) in Her body, and

within her personal and relational existence on earth.

2. Goddess (Feminine) in Myth, Culture, and Religion

This category invites exploration of the ways in which depiction of Being a  Wom(b)an has transitioned across Myth, Culture, and Religion around the world, and

how it has directly or indirectly influenced, impacted,

and (mis)guided the visibility and veiling, presence and absence, and the expression of roles and responsibilities of Wom(b)en and the Feminine  (Goddess) in, from, and across Social Cultural Political Narrative.

E.g: Womb and Animal Goddesses,  Bleeding Yoni,

Obedient Wife, Sinful Body, etc.

3. Uses of Erotic, Erotic as Power

This category is based on Audre Lodre’s essay of the same name. It invites a direct inquiry into locating the Erotic as a Source of feminine power within and without through exploration, experience,  expression, and embodiment.

How do we make room for the erotic in our daily lives, and how do we navigate this power in the daily engagements of our personal, relational and transpersonal experience of life.
E.g : Unveiling Erotic power in Womens tradition of Adornment and Self-Decoration..

Listen to Audre Lodre's Essay

4. Wom(b)ens Mysteries, Rites, and Rituals

This category invites a deeper inquiry into

  • the rites of passage rituals connected to Wom(b)en’s blood mysteries,
  • how it's significance, meaning, appearance and importance have shifted over the last thousands of years around the world,
  • how this has influenced wom(b)ans relationship with herself, her body, her sexuality, her spirituality, and also, other women.

We hope this category to not just  support the exploration of rites of passage but also, guides  participants in the co-creation of rituals to mark and make this passage  possible.

5. Autonomy, Choice, and Consent

This category is about remembering, restoring, and reclaiming a  Wom(b)an’s sovereignty in all aspects of her life. Expressing her yes and her no with authenticity, choice, and power within. This category can be applied to all the tracks and hopes that participants are able to  explore, engage and express their gain of autonomy, choice and consent on their own terms while holding space and including any pain from the past.

6. Conscious Sisterhood of Menstrual Womb Synchrony

This category invites workshops that support participants to explore, engage, express, and experience conscious sisterhood founded in  menstrual womb synchrony. The idea is - When girls/women come together,  share, reflect, and spend quality time together their bodies  shape-shift, wombs synchronize, bleeding regulates, dreams deepen,  feminine power grows, and an intuitive knowing begins to emerge in the personal and collective space that connects all women in and with  Nature.

7. Feminine Creative Self-Expression

This category invites workshops that support participants to explore, engage, experience, and express the Wild Dark Feminine creative    impulse that is directly influenced by Wom(b)an's blood mysteries, and  holds within it a primal, wild, raw, sensory essence that is inclusive  of all the polar flavors of life and death. We hope that the workshops  that include this category will support wom(b)en to tap into her intuitive instinctual primal creative self-expression energy while  releasing her fear, shame, and resistance in it.

8. Cyclic Self-Care of Rest - Rebirth - Activity

This category invites workshops that support participants to  explore, engage, experience the importance of cyclic Self-Care, and  learn a variety of supportive tools to align the different aspects of  themselves (physical, mental-emotional, psychological, relational,  creative, spiritual, etc) with the waxing and waning rhythms of light  during the Day and in the Night with change in seasons, moon cycles,  blood cycles,  age cycles, etc
