Shakti Moon Circle is a signature space of the She Stands Tall Project hosted in alignment with the waxing and waning of Moon. It facilitates a Safe, Sacred, Open, Trauma-Informed space that supports women from Diverse Backgrounds to sit together, see and be with each other as Wom(b)en. Through the way of the circle, the space is created to explore, share, talk, speak, and reflect on, and about things in, from, and of her life that she has never before felt safe or comfortable voicing, or acknowledging, even to herself, let alone others. This space brings alive the experience of Nourishing Sisterhood that is integral and primal for the health, happiness, and wellness of a Wom(b)an. The space supports her to express her relationship with her Body, Sexuality, Womb Rhythm, Menstruation, Intimacy, Family and more.
Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours
Held and Mirrored in Sisterhood + Herstories + Embodied Creativity + Ritual + Womb Spirituality
Wom(b)en need Wom(b)en.
It is essential and integral to her process of recycling emotional vulnerability, renewing intimacy, re-informing her mind and intelligence, rejuvenating her spirituality, and most importantly, re-turning to her Womb and Blood rhythm in the entrainment with other wombs. This happens naturally in the mirrored cyclic nature of a Lunar circle. It is the isolation, alienation, and separation from each other that has weakened Wom(b)en's Primal Wild instinctual feminine power. Then the only available power is the inhabitation of a linear-masculine driven Forceful power-over that only furthers patriarchy, and forgetfulness of her Mother Mind, and her Body-Womb wisdom. She loses a core essential part of herself in this process. This loss is often visible in the suffering experienced by modern Wom(b)en as a deep sense of loneliness, depression, emotional dysregulation, chronic exhaustion fatigue, chronic pain, anxiety and fears, psychosomatic illnesses, womb and menstruation-related disorders, insurmountable rage and grief, nightmares, and in proportional self-blame, shame, and guilt.
The first Wom(b)an circle was hosted by Rekha Kurup in November 2010 in the Calaveras Hills State Park in Milpitas, California on the theme of Being a Woman. It was her way of sharing her discoveries and learnings from her Women's Spirituality M.A at Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Since then Rekha has hosted hundreds of circles across different parts of the world - wherever she went. In 2017 - 2018, SSTP held the first Shakti Moon Circle Facilitation Apprenticeship. Seven Shakti Moon Circle Leaders were born. Each Shakti Moon Circle Leader is weaving the circle in her own way within and for her community around the world. This year - 2022 - the Second Shakti Moon Circle Facilitation Apprenticeship - now called Wom(b)ownship (womben owning themselves) has begun with 10 Shakti Wom(b)en.
You are invited to join any of these Circle Leaders - in person or online in her work. You will meet yourself in every circle in a way that you never did before.
